BUENOS AIRES (Diario ARMENIA).- Pablo Hakimian, parish priest of the Armenian Catholic Church of Argentina, spoke to Diario ARMENIA of Buenos Aires about the newly elected Pope Francisco. “He was a great friend of the Armenian Community. When he was Cardinal Bergoglio, he officiated many religious ceremonies at the Metropolitan Cathedral, remembering the victims of the Armenian Genocide and urging the Turkey’s Government to acknowledge the genocide perpetrated by the Young Turks. The Armenian Patriarchs in Argentina, were shocked and even amazed by Bergoglio’s austerity, simplicity and humility”.
